Finding Your Cool Spot: Why a 1.5-Ton AC Might Be the Perfect Fit
As summer temperatures climb, staying cool becomes a battle. Air conditioners (ACs) are our valiant warriors in this fight, providing refreshing relief from the sweltering heat. But with a myriad of AC capacities available, choosing the right one can feel like navigating a labyrinth. Fear not, for this guide will delve into the world of 1.5-ton ACs, exploring why they might be the perfect fit for your home.
The term "ton" in AC units signifies its cooling power. A 1.5-ton AC is designed to effectively cool rooms ranging from 130 to 160 square feet. This capacity makes it ideal for medium-sized bedrooms, living rooms, or even open-concept areas where the kitchen flows into the living space. However, it's important to remember that factors like ceiling height, insulation levels, and the amount of sunlight a room receives can influence its effectiveness. For instance, a well-insulated room with a standard ceiling height will likely be cooled more efficiently by a 1.5-ton AC compared to a poorly insulated room with high ceilings.
The Allure of a 1.5-Ton AC:
There are several compelling reasons why a 1.5-ton AC might be the ideal choice for your home:
Efficient Cooling: A 1.5-ton AC is perfectly sized for mid-sized rooms. It doesn't have to work excessively to maintain a comfortable temperature, potentially leading to lower energy consumption compared to a larger unit cooling a smaller space. This translates to reduced electricity bills, keeping your wallet happy and the environment a little greener.
Cost-Effective Champion: Due to its size and efficient operation, 1.5-ton ACs are generally more affordable to purchase and maintain compared to their larger capacity counterparts. This makes them a budget-friendly option for creating a cool sanctuary in your home.
Comfort Without Compromise: A 1.5-ton AC provides adequate cooling power without creating an overly chilled or excessively dry environment. Some people find powerful AC units can make the air feel uncomfortably cold and dry, causing itchy skin and irritated sinuses. A 1.5-ton AC strikes a balance, delivering cool comfort without sacrificing humidity levels.
Making the Perfect Match:
While a 1.5-ton AC is a great option for many homes, it's crucial to consider the specific needs of your space. If your room is larger than 160 square feet, has high ceilings that trap heat, or receives a significant amount of direct sunlight, a higher capacity AC might be necessary. For example, a south-facing room bathed in afternoon sun will require more cooling power than a north-facing room. Consulting with a qualified HVAC professional can help you determine the ideal AC size for your unique space. They can assess factors like square footage, insulation levels, window placement, and sun exposure to ensure you get the perfect cooling match.
The Takeaway:
A 1.5-ton AC offers a compelling combination of efficient cooling, cost-effectiveness, and balanced comfort for medium-sized rooms. By understanding its capabilities and considering your space's specific needs, you can make an informed decision and create a cool haven in your home all summer long. So, ditch the discomfort and embrace a summer of blissful coolness with the perfect AC unit for your needs.

"Task Failed Successfully?" Azul Ashengrotto x GN Reader
Synopsis: He’s finally ready to execute his master plan to make you fall in love with him, and it all starts today… the day you planned to confess to him.
Word Count: ~1.4k
A/N: I love Azul he's such a lil dork to me
Warnings: Azul is down pretty bad, he's also a nervous wreck, Floyd and Jade are there for 2 seconds
It started after his overblot. You saw him at his worst, his most emotional and destructive, yet you still treated him so kindly. You didn’t hold it against him or blame him, if anything you were compassionate. He was caught off guard by your sincerity, and how your presence started making his chest feel tight. His persona he worked so hard to maintain at all times wavered whenever you were near. He stuttered, he forgot what he wanted to say, he smiled too wide and laughed too hard. You ruined his composure every time you were around and it was getting harder to pretend you were just a client or friend to him by the day.
The first step was admitting you had become much more important to him than he had anticipated you would, and that he didn’t want to be without you.
The second step was making you feel the same way.
In a school full of eligible bachelors, Azul was not confident in his current position. Suddenly it felt like everyone around you was a potential suitor, and he couldn’t help but worry it was only a matter of time before somebody else asked you out. And your kindness wasn’t exclusive to him, as much as he selfishly wished it was. You were friendly with plenty of students, was he just another friend to you? He couldn’t be, he couldn’t stand it. And that’s where the plan first came to fruition.
It was rather convoluted and even he knew it. But it was necessary, he reasoned, to make sure you had ample opportunity to see him at his best and most attractive. What better way to do that than getting you to work with him?
He could see it all in his head: He’d ask you to meet in his office, convince you to make a deal to work for him, and make you his assistant so you spent your entire shift with him. Then you’d get to watch him run the lounge and maneuver his way into contracts with ease, and he would get to take advantage of your time alone to get to know you even better. He’d use what he learned from your conversations to make himself look even better, until you’re so impressed you can’t help but start falling for him. You’d think he’s so cool and confident and smart and successful and-
“Oya, are you still listening, Azul?”
“I think he’s busy thinking about someone, hehe~”
Azul opens his eyes to see the twins smiling mischievously at each other. They had been walking out of their dorm together when his mind started wandering, now they’re nearly at their classrooms.
“Keep your voice down.” Azul commands, but it doesn’t hold a lot of weight when he’s clearly flustered. “Somebody might hear you.”
The brothers give each other a look, then go right back to smiling. Azul frowns before he reminds them he’ll be late to the lounge after class and to open without him. Then the trio splits, and Azul spots you as you dart into the alchemy classroom before the warning bell rings.
Today, today was going to be the start of everything.
———
After a very distracted school day (and after making sure Floyd actually went back to the lounge), Azul walked with determination to the hall of mirrors. He picked a day both the track and basketball club were busy with practice so he’d be able to get you alone at Ramshackle. He wasn't threatened by Ace or Deuce, but he needed them out the way while he set things in motion. He was so nearly there, all he had to do was sweet talk his way into getting you back to the lounge to sign a contract that would pave the way to your destined love story.
He’s finally at your door, and his stomach twists in a knot. He raises his fist but hesitates to knock, revisiting every line he had planned in his head one final time. A voice from behind him nearly makes him jump out of skin.
“Azul? What are you doing here?” He turns around to see you watching him curiously. He recovers from his surprise quickly and grins at you politely.
“Prefect! I was just looking for you. Do you have a moment?”
“Yeah, sure. I was looking for you too, actually, I went to the lounge and everything. Do you wanna come in?”
That explains how he got to your dorm before you at least, but leaves him with a lot of other questions. What did you want him for? If you were looking for him at the lounge, did you want a deal? He figured he would have to make a very strong case for the benefits of working for him to get you on board, but if you had something you wanted from him too, that might make things easier. He smiles confidently at this turn of events. “Of course.”
He follows you into Ramshackle. It’s not a problem if your conversation happens here instead he figures, as long as everything else still works out the way it’s supposed to. You gesture to the couch and he sits down.
“So, Prefect, what is it you needed to see me about?” He’s expecting you to say something trivial, something like notes for class or help with an assignment. Something he can already use to show you how competent he is, how hard he’d work to help you as your partner, how-
…Why are you looking at him like that?
He grows more confused as your entire demeanor changes. The air gets heavier, more serious and you won’t look him directly in the eyes anymore. You fidget with your hands a bit, a nervous habit of yours he’s picked up on.
“...Maybe you should go first.”
“What makes you say that?” “Mine’s…a whole thing. Plus you might not like it. Or me, after.”
You’ve got him nervous now. Had something bad happened? He was concerned of course, though the thought that you had a more serious issue and came to him of all people for help filled him with a guilty kind of joy. Now was a chance to prove himself as someone reliable and attentive to you.
“I assure you nothing could make me dislike you.” He admits a little more genuinely than he intended to. He clears his throat before quickly trying to move past it. “And I have time. If something or someone is causing you trouble, it can be dealt with. You just have to tell me.”
Perfect, now you would spill, he'd offer to fix your issue in exchange for your employment, you were right where he wanted you...
…Had you been sitting that close to him before? Once he notices your proximity, he can’t help the growing heat in his face and ears.
You lean in a little closer to him and his face rivals an angry Heartslabyul dorm leader’s. You gently place your hand on top of his on the couch and he starts trembling. You look up at him again, and his wide-eyed expression makes you laugh. He’s always liked your laugh, but the way it sounds right now makes his heart flutter.
“You’re sure you want to know?” You’re teasing him now and he knows it, but he can hardly form a thought other than how alluring you look. Your other hand finds its way to push a piece of hair out of his face and he feels like he’s going to combust. He tries to answer, but it comes out as some stuttered gibberish that only makes your smirk grow wider. “Azul, you’re really cute like this.” “C-cute? I don’t…that’s, I-”
“I like you, silly. I was gonna ask you out once I got you alone.”
His whole body tenses up. This wasn’t how this was supposed to go. It’s not like it wasn’t supposed to end up here, but he wanted to be suave and cool about it, and here he was a complete mess. He planned to have a few months at least to brace himself before you’d even start flirting with him, now you’re still not letting go of his hand and you’re leaning in even more-
When you kiss him, his mind bluescreens completely. Your lips move softly against his and he can’t breathe. And when you pull away, any remainder of that meticulous plan he came to your door with is gone, erased from his brain. You stay close for a moment and he swears you’ve never looked more captivating.
“...So, what were you gonna ask me for?”
“I…have no idea.”

What about Horangi ends up at the big crime boss’s table, betting his body at a game against the crime boss’s son. Maybe they flirt a little?
Korangi?? I can do Korangi??
König did not like gambling. He liked playing cards and he considered himself rather lucky, but once money was involved, it fell out of his favor.
But his father liked him being there for show. Something about "Family image" and "you'll take over the business one day".
König didn't mean to be bitter about it. Any money he lost would quite literally be given back to him. But the men around him were getting desperate, trying to ration or count out their chips. A few went all in, looking a tad bit confident, but he doubted they'd beat his hand.
A new comer came to the table. He had plenty of chips. But it wasn't the money that drew König's (and several of the other people at the table) eyes. The suit he was wearing wasn't the best fitting, being a little loose around the waist like he had lost some weight. But his hips. Thighs. If he turned around, König would actually put a few chips down that his ass would be just as nice.
His face was mostly covered up but he had gorgeous brown eyes. They blinked at the table as he sat down and put his chips down.
The card dealer didn't miss a beat, shuffling him in on the next round.
"What's your name?" One of the other people at the table asked.
"Horangi." He answered as he started playing.
König tried not to judge people too harshly. He understood that gambling could be addicting. But he had heard quite about this Horangi. He knew about the debts currently hanging over his pretty head. He also knew that he was unfortunately a slave to his own whims, unable to escape the appeal of shiny cards.
König had heard a rumor that Horangi had possibly done some fighting to get more cash.
That being said, Horangi was a horrible gambler. The first half of the chips were blown through in only a few rounds and the second half trickled away only a little slower. Several of the people at the table were like predators, goading him into it and the scavengers would win some more of the chips.
There was a panic to his eyes. A real fear. Not like the eyes of people who gambled away their retirement money or their kid's money. No. This was the fear he saw in the eyes of someone who desperately needed to win.
Then he was empty handed. It happened fast. He ran his hands on his thighs like they were clammy.
König considered offering some cash. Just enough to keep him in.
The dealer stepped in before he had a chance. "No money. Got something else you want to bet?"
Horangi looked up. He checked his wrists and then his throat for jewelry presumably before answering.
"A night of my body"
"That all inclusive? Anything I want?" One of the pretty ladies at the table asked. She smiled but she was still a predator.
König made direct eye contact with the dealer, and judging by the suddenly very serious expression on his face, he knew what König wanted.
The others talked and mostly agreed to take the deal, with only one person declining.
König could only think of splitting him on his cock. Would he be a crier? Or would he refuse to moan?
Regardless, König knew his legs would be shaking. There were better places for pretty men like Horangi to be than working. They should be in König's bed. He should be in König's bed.
The dealer smiled pleasantly. "A night, Horangi? Winning hand this round wins it?"
Horangi nodded after a moment, eyes crinkling a little like he was smiling. "Deal."
Cards were shuffled. Cards were laid down.
Four people folded immediately, leaving three people left.
Interesting.
Horangi looked a little confident. It was a good sign.
The three showed their hands.
Two Aces of Spades. One in König's hand, one in the other man's.
Horangi stayed quiet. He beat the other man, but he didn't beat König.
"Betrüger." König said lowly, glancing at the other man through his hood. "Not smart."
"No, sir. I swear, I didn't! It must have been a mistake, I promise. I'll fold." The man tried to defend himself.
König pulled out a blade, flicking it around his hand. The other gamblers looked around each other fearfully. "Sei froh, dass ich barmherzig bin. Get lost."
The innocent man grabbed his left over chips and left.
König stood up and walked around the table to Horangi, putting his hand on his shoulder. He felt painfully tense under König's hand but König did not go through the effort of cheating to get his night with him to go home empty handed.
Horangi tapped his fingers against the table. "Well, you won, fair and square." He stood up and turned towards him. "You're cashing in right now?"
König pulled him along. "I have a room in the back."
Horangi stumbled. "They have rooms here?" He paused when he realized König was bringing them to the spare rooms in the back for the crime family that owned the place. "Wait, I don't think the owner of this place would be too happy about this."
"I'm sure my father will understand." König moved him, forcing him forward.
He heard the sharp sound that got out of Horangi.
"Don't worry. I'll be real gentle for our first time."
Another wounded sound. König understood why he was concerned, but he really didn't need to be. He wasn't a sadist in bed.
Horangi managed to keep walking but König could practically hear his heart beating faster. He got them to his room and put his hand around the back of his neck.
"Like anything special?"
"You check all the boxes, sweetheart. Got anything I can't do to you?"
Horangi shrugged. "I'm at your service. Whatever you want."
König did not like that answer. He'd be careful then. He picked him up using his thighs and let Horangi grab his shoulders to keep steady. "You're going to be so fun."
Horangi swallowed thickly and nodded. "Right..."
König should maybe consider the implications. He had cheated. It was likely Horangi would've won. If he was a good man, he'd let him off the hook.
But he was not. However, he wasn't completely morally bankrupt.
"I'll give you some money too. Everything I won. I think you need it more, love." He laid him out on the mattress, watching him flush.
Horangi went to ask before seeming to think better. "Alright. And I should call you?"
"König. And I meant what I said. I'm going to be gentle." He grabbed those seductive hips.
Horangi nodded and bared his throat for him. "Don't remove the mask."
König nodded and finally got back to what he wanted. He stripped Horangi of everything but his mask, tracing a few of the scars. They were thick and clearly inflicted with the intention of making 'tiger scars'.
He had a feeling he knew who's work it was. Later, he'd kill them for this. Scarring such a beautiful body. Though, with Horangi, it somehow added to his charm.
König kissed down his chest and then got lube. He wasted no time in starting to slicking up his fingers and trying to get one into Horangi. He was incredibly tight and his own fingers were quite thick. The tip of his finger managed to wiggle it's way in and he added more lube to make it easier for him.
Horangi spread his legs a bit more and led König's head to his neck. Instinctively, he started to bite and suck hickeys into his neck. Almost immediately, it was easier to ease his finger into him. He crooked it to brush against Horangi's sweet spot to make him groan.
"You're not much for easing into it huh?"
König hummed. "I prefer quick and dirty. Works better for me." He warmed him up enough to fit another one into him.
Horangi moaned and threw his head back. Those pretty thighs spread wider to allow him in deeper.
König worked a third one into him and spread his fingers open wide. He wanted to make sure he was nice and slick.
Then, he pulled out and shoved Horangi's knees to his chest. His cock laid on Horangi's stomach, watching it twitch.
"Ah." Horangi wheezed. "Might be a tight fit." He looked bored with the whole thing, despite how his cock was clearly still hard.
"You'll take it. Like I said, nice and easy." He pulled back and pressed the tip of his cock against his rim. "Just stay relaxed for me. I'll double it if you let me cum inside."
Horangi swallowed and nodded immediately. He groaned briefly, half in pleasure half in pain, as he started to push in, but he cut himself off to glance away, playing hard to get.
Fuck, he wasn't kidding. So tight. König stopped after an inch or two before sliding out and sliding back in further. He stroked Horangi a little with the left over lube on his hand to keep his attention.
Horangi panted softly as König kept going back and forth, slowly opening him further. The pleasure was unbearable for both of them, but König sought more. He bit his shoulder when he bottomed out, rewarding him. Despite the attempts of him to stay looking bored, he mewled like a kitten when he started to hit his prostate.
König treated sex like everything else. He was accurate, forceful and honestly a little competitive. He wanted to be the best. He wanted Horangi to think about this night and realize he wasn't going to get better.
His hood and Horangi's mask got in the way of kissing him like he was wanted, so he continued to just pleasure him.
Horangi couldn't keep his eyes straight, they'd flutter to the back of his head and his nails dug deep into his shoulder. "Fuck, I..." He spoke into what König was fairly certain was his mother tongue. They were broken occasionally as he broke into moans.
König lifted his hood a little to make it easier to run his face along his chest before sinking his teeth into nipple and then sucked harshly. Like he wanted, Horangi's legs were shaking hard before he came all over himself. His hole tightened which only made König fuck him harder.
König hummed. "Rather easy. Enjoying it that much?"
Horangi grunted as his face reddened with the overstimulation. His ankles dug into König's back as that tight fucking hole of his kept taking it. Tears filled his eyes but his cock was twitching, already desperately trying to get back up.
König opened his mouth, planning on telling him how hot he looked and maybe throwing in a line about how he looked like a whore but he wasn't sure if Horangi would be into that.
"Leon?" One of his father's guards knocked.
König thrust in hard to make Horangi scream in pleasure. He pulled out of him and flipped him over, leaning across his back to speak in his ear. "I'll be right back."
Horangi nodded and put his head in his arms. He did pull the sheet over himself but that made sense.
König opened the door, ignoring that he was naked. "What??"
"Is now not a good time sir?"
"No. It's not. Tell anyone else who might bother me to piss off. I have until fucking morning." He slammed the door and stalked back, yanking Horangi across the bed. Before he pushed back into him, he checked to make sure Horangi was still good and open. Then he pushed back into him.
Horangi moaned loudly before burying his face in the bed. He let König move him around like a doll to keep slamming into him over and over again.
König pulled his head up by his hair so he could hear the desperate little sounds coming from his mouth. "They're so annoying. Unlike you. Always shoving their noses in places they don't belong. None are as pretty as you."
Horangi whined and he was trying to muffle himself but it wasn't working.
"Horangi. Can I come inside you? I want to see how deep I can get it. If I can make sure it doesn't drip out." König grinded his cock deeper into him, pleased to hear a shocked little sob.
"Yes." Horangi tried to nod but his grip in his hair was too tight.
König hummed, very pleased. He started to stroke him in time. "You're going to cum when I do. I want to feel how tight you get."
"Fuck. I heard you were shy."
He laughed. "With other people, maybe. But in bed, I can't exactly waste time. I'd never get anywhere."
Horangi sobbed when he came, clearly not used to orgasming so soon back to back. The tightness was heavenly and König grinded as far as he could into him before coming, even forcing his hips up at an angle to go in deeper. That flutter drove him crazy. The clenching of his muscles. Even the shine in his eyes from tears.
König slapped his ass and felt him clench again. "Good boy." He pulled out slowly, happy to see how he gaped from the large size. "You know, Horangi. How would you like to be kept huh? I'd pay off your debts. Even give you a little spending money. And every night, I'd do this to you."
Horangi huffed. "Not looking to be a lap dog. Sorry."
König traced his fingers down his spine. "Don't ever bet your body again."
"Why is that?"
"Cause I'll kill them and then I'll take it." König slapped his ass again, this time on the other cheek so their were twin handprints.

Select Two, Choose One: How will the Culprit get Found?
Since the latest DRDT chapter seems to have narrowed down the suspect list to just two people, many have speculated on how exactly the cast is going to pin down the correct suspect, and whether or not the audience has the tools to do so. I thought I’d throw my hat in the ring too! And while I’m still really 50/50 split, there is one piece of evidence that could change the murder method… in a way that points us to the culprit. Very inconclusive evidence, but it’s there. Let’s get into it.
Spoilers up to CH2 EP14. CW: Hanging, murder, blood, Eden and Ace!Culprit discussion
As a starting point, I’ll assume that the deduction that the culprit must be one of Eden or Ace is accurate, to simplify things if nothing else.
I will start with what I’ll call “meta only” arguments. In other words, things that characters can’t reliably use to narrow down the suspect, but that we the audience can take into consideration for theory-crafting.
-Mindset post-Nico murder attempt: Immediately after Nico runs out of the gym, the killer needs to be in the correct mindset to grab the tape, and they also need to be able to more or less figure out what Nico did to replicate it with Arei. Although, importantly, the killer doesn’t need to come up with the full plan on the spot, and they don’t need to fully understand what Nico was doing. At the end of the day, the only real similarities are the general idea of a pulley and a hanging.
Here’s more or less the train of thought Eden might have had if she’s the killer.
Eden: Hmm… The fan is broken and there was wire on it, Ace’s neck looks cut… Maybe Nico used some kind of pulley to hang him and it broke? Maybe I could do that… This tape looks useful for that.
Meanwhile, since Ace woke up in the middle of the murder attempt, he has to do a little less deducing.
Ace: Did I just get knocked- HOLY SHIT NICO IS HANGING ME WITH SOME SORT OF FUCKING SPINNING DEVICE AAAA-! Ooh, tape! :D
The actual planning of a murder would come later in the morning for Ace, once he sits down and has A Thought about it. Grabbing the tape in that context seems insane, but there may be precedent for Ace being prone to stealing the weirdest shit (we’ll get to it), so…
I think both of these are plausible. I wouldn’t say either can be disqualified like this, so we keep looking.
-Ripping/reconstructing the note: The note to Arei was ripped up and thrown into the trash, then Eden, Rose and Whit put it together.
Ace has no real reason to destroy the note, he could have just left it as it was. Maybe throw it in the trash since “it’s what Eden would have done”, but destroying it runs the risk of people not being able to put it together to point at Eden/Arturo. Although, you could argue Ace was trying to frame Nico specifically, so the note wasn’t useful and he threw it away because it made sense in his mind.
Here’s where we get introduced to a pretty big problem of having Ace as a suspect; that thing Teruko said, that sometimes assuming people will always act logically is a bad idea. Ace is the prime example; a lot of shit in this case makes a lot more sense if you assume Ace did it because he’s not smart enough to notice the problems with it. Such as using the method to frame Nico when only a few people in the class know what the method is; he maybe wouldn’t have noticed that that could point towards him as well. Ace is erratic, it’s very difficult to pin down why he does half the shit he does.
Eden, at least, makes sense. By destroying the note, then rebuilding it herself, she throws off suspicion with the exact argument she used in the trial; if she’s the killer, why do that? Just leaving the note as it is runs the risk of someone finding it and presenting it, which removes that argument, meaning tearing it is imperative.
And she would want the class to find it, not just because it makes her look more innocent if she talks about a building friendship with Arei, but because the note is where we get the “7:30” time, which combined with the fish making people think the murder was at nighttime, appears to give Eden an alibi.
In conclusion, the note being ripped makes more sense with Eden as the culprit… but it doesn’t disqualify Ace because he’s an idiot. And speaking of that…
-Fish Paradox: As outlined in my Ep13 murder theory revision, the problem with the fish is that everyone who benefits from the fish being at the crime scene only benefits if they have an alibi for nighttime, but that coincides with the time the fish disappeared, as Nico fed them and counted all of them after having dinner, so they couldn’t have taken it. Meanwhile, people like Ace who could have taken the fish, wouldn’t have a reason to as they don’t benefit from the nighttime alibi.
Except, it’s fucking Ace. It’s genuinely possible he thought people would see fish and instantly jump on Nico for some reason. See the problems that arise when you can no longer assume the killer is acting rationally?
Anyways, inconclusive (we’ll talk Eden later).
-No blood on tape: This heavily depends on exactly how Ace could grabbed the tape. His hands sorta get covered in blood instantly, so it’s hard to imagine he’d be able to do that without staining the entire roll of tape with blood. He couldn’t have easily washed it, either, since he passes out shortly after, and the blood would have likely dried by the time he woke up. This is definitely a point towards Eden, but can the cast use this? I don’t think so, because it relies on what we saw during the episode, which is not easy to prove in a trial setting.
-Dialogue and trial behavior: This one’s difficult, and as you might expect, inconclusive.
I would argue Eden has a higher amount of outright suspicious lines (“Teruko, wait—“ haunts me), but she also has a higher amount of seemingly anti-suspicious lines that make her look very innocent (see: the entire speech at the end of Ep 14).
She also has a moment where she steers the trial in the right direction by denying that Arei could have committed assisted suicide, but it’s worth remembering that if the class thinks that’s what happened and they learn of Eden’s relationship with her, they might assume Arei and Eden worked together to get Eden out. In other words, by denying the notion of assisted suicide, Eden!Culprit avoids the class reaching the right conclusion through the wrong method. Of course, if she’s innocent, it’s just genuine.
Comparatively, Ace operates at a much more stable level of suspiciousness I can only call “Ace level.” He’s constantly throwing suspicion on Nico, who the killer seemingly tried to frame with the method; he kept David and Arei’s conversation hidden; and was one of the first to jump on the “David’s the culprit” bandwagon. In a vacuum, this is super suspicious; hell, Levi was the fandom’s prime suspect for less.
But… it’s Ace. His behavior isn’t too different from the first trial. So while it’s possible he’s doing all this because he’s the culprit, it’s also possible he’s just being Ace.
Impossible to tell, I fear.
-Eden’s Night 2 paranoia: You might recall Eden being very worried someone was following her in night 2, which could suggest she was doing something suspicious (eg setting up the ball of clothes, more on this later) and was scared she’d get found out.
The problem is that there’s a perfectly fine explanation for Spotless!Eden. This is the night after her confrontation with Arturo, and Teruko did enter the same room as her; she could have just been paranoid because of the former, and felt someone was following her because of the latter. Moot point.
(I don’t think anyone else was following Eden because Teruko would have presumably seen them. Then again, I have overestimated our protag’s perceptiveness in the past)
-Eden’s strength: Eden is the weakest of the cast, so it’s very possible that half the Arei murder method is just impossible for her. But… we can’t know for absolutely sure what “weakest of the cast” means, and it’s not evidence that can be used in a trial. Ignorable.
-Motive, character writing and themes: I’m lumping these in together because I’ll give the same answer to all of them: the dev can just add an explanation in the inevitable post-trial trauma dump. We don’t know absolutely everything there is to know about these characters, or the way the narrative is going, so it’s impossible to confidently argue based on this. Physical evidence will always take precedence over these things in my books.
And that kinda settles it for that. There’s minor arguments like “Eden won’t die before we explore the Fork CG” (well, Xander did, so) or “if the Scrum Debate is Ace vs Eden then Ace is probably safe” (we don’t know what the Scrum Debate will be), but I’ll skip them to get to the more pressing matters.
That being trial-worthy evidence. What can the most dysfunctional cast of any fangan ever (/affectionate) use to fully commit to a culprit?
-Fish Alibi: If Ace has the problem of “no reason to bring fish,” Eden has the problem that her alibi literally starts directly after dinner. If Nico ate dinner with her and Hu, she couldn’t have taken the fish.
Except, of course, Nico could have had dinner earlier, and this point is completely moot. We can’t know yet.
-BDA: This is very obviously not what the cast will use to come to the conclusion given the discussions we’ve had, but I’ll bring it up anyways. This was explained in the episode though, so…
-Playground floor: sorastar6’s idea; since the floor of the playground is made of the same stuff as the relax room, it’d become sticky after getting wet from the water in the jugs, and thus, the culprit could have some stuck to their shoe. Unfortunately for some of you, we can’t easily look at the cast’s feet all the time, so this would only work for the characters, not us. However, Hu does mention heels as an example of something that can scuff the floor, and Ace wears heels, so small point to him.
-Missing glove: I still have no idea where this thing went. My only guess would be that the killer removed it to more easily put tape on Arei’s wrists, but by the time they’d strung her up, they decided putting the glove back on would take too much time (? I have no concept of how hard it’s be to properly put a glove on a dead person’s hand), and they wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. If true, that would mean they still have the glove on them, as it wasn’t in the trash. Again, if I’m right about this, the cast can use this, we can’t.
-Random garbage:
Something here. Rose would remember everything about it, so it’s usable. Maybe Ace’s gloves were damaged and he had to use the needle and thread to fix them? Maybe one of those napkins is the cloth with turpentine Nico used and only Ace would have identified and used it (assuming it wouldn’t have dried and MonoTV wouldn’t have thrown it out for some reason)? What even is that pink paper thing? Who knows.
-Ball of clothes: Held together by something Teruko identified as starch, there’s been around three hundred theories involving this thing. The only one that’s actually incriminating (for the two possibilities being discussed) is thebadjoe’s idea of the starch being from the enriched formula of the relax room, which could implicate Eden as she was acting suspiciously around the dress-up room on night 2.
I’ve seen it argued that the clothes would be dirty in that case, but that can be solved with an extra layer of clothes under the clothes that actually get starched up, which would later be either discarded, washed, or simply put inside the ball itself.
(This might be the last murder diagram I make for this case. Holy shit I can’t believe that)
Which is all well and good, but this is still ultimately assuming both that the cast has some way of making sure Ace couldn’t have done this, which I’m not sure exists, and that the starch comes from the relax room in the first place.
Because something I learnt, like, last week, is that people put starch on clothes. Like that’s a thing they do. So it’s entirely possible there’s starch for clothes in the dress-up room and anyone could have done this. If that’s the case, this cannot be used to argue at all. I don’t love the idea, since we don’t know if there really is starch there or not, but it’s there.
-Grammar: The letter to Arei pretty famously misspells “responsibel” (responsible), has horrible punctuation, etc. It’s possible someone in the trial will realize, ask Ace and Eden to spell the word, and whoever gets it right is cleared. We can’t know, but it’s a possibility. This also has the benefit of being obscenely funny.
-Custom weapon: If the killer used their custom weapon, it may point to them as guilty, as only they have access to it. However, I fail to see how a riding crop (Ace) or a wrench (Eden) would help in the slightest.
There is, however, one more item that only one of these characters has access to. And while I am very unsure of this assumption, if you ask me right now what is the decisive piece of evidence that will close the case once and for all, I will tell you:
-The shoulder band thingy:
Ace: Too fucking bad. Mine now. I’m keeping it.
Yep. This one.
For starters, remember that thing I said about the tape? That Ace has precedent of stealing completely random shit for no reason, and so it’s plausible he grabbed the tape just because? This is the precedent.
More importantly though, it’s something only Ace has access to, so if it can be determined it was used in the crime scene, it’s curtains.
And there is actually one place I could see it being used. Followers of my method theories know that, through the fire and the flames, there’s been one deduction that’s remain constant: the rope was tied to the ball of clothes, which was thrown over the railings to get the rope as high as needed. The ball also hit the lights, displacing the bulb and causing it to flicker.
(He he I snuck the image into a fourth post >:D)
I’ve always sorta assumed DRDT takes place in a physics exercise where air drag is ignored, but it’s true that this might be harder than I’ve been presenting it as.
So, we get the use for the shoulder band; a slingshot. I’m unsure on how it would be constructed (swingset maybe? seesaw?), but the idea is that. Create a slingshot, throw the clothes, badabim badabum, Ace is the culprit.
I’m not the only one to think of this btw. Reddit user (yes we’re cross-platforming for this) Makatrull seems to have arrived at the same conclusion. Great minds think alike ig.
Of course, this comes with its own issues. Mainly, how do you connect the shoulder band to the crime scene? The only way I see that happening is if the cast determines this is literally the only way the lights get broken, which… yeah, I’m gonna have to let them do the math on that one.
It’s impossible to judge without existing in the DRDT world. Is the ceiling higher than I’d previously assumed? Then it’s possible to come to this conclusion. Is it lower, and possible that even Eden would have managed to just throw the ball over the railing? Certainly. So, for now, inconclusive. When I say it’s the most likely to be the decisive evidence, I mean by like, 0.1%, I really have no clue.
———
There’s probably more, but that’s all I can think of for now.
Seeing as we’re reaching the end, I’m gonna say that regardless of the outcome, this might be one of my favorite trials in all of both canon and fan-made Danganronpa. So much shit happened. I’ll save my full thoughts for a more dedicated post, but goddamn, I can’t wait to see the conclusion!
Hope you enjoyed! If you made it this far, you deserve a shoulder band thing. Do with it as you please. See you!

Waking Lions 20
Find the series masterlist
We're changing things up a little this chapter! I felt you guys needed a POV switch to really get a better picture of what's going on.
So, let's check in with Price and see how he's handling this, shall we?
Warnings: swearing, yelling, game typical violence, war crimes probably, Price needs his own warning, canon typical violence against nameless goons.
Word count: 2.3k
In his defense, Price had a lot on his mind.
But no. That was no kind of defense.
Especially not when it came to you.
He'd sent you away because he had to, because otherwise you'd be too distracting. He had to focus on the task at hand.
Not on thinking about everything he'd just learned about you. Everything you'd let slip in your fluster.
He knew you well enough to know that you'd be mortified, later. You kept so many things to yourself that knowing an entire room full of people had heard that would probably send you into hiding.
From the way Laswell glanced at the door after you left, Price knew that she was thinking the same thing.
But there would be time later to console you, to apologize for being an ass, to make sure you were alright.
For now, he had work to do.
Now that there were three groups involved, it was easier to split up the targets. Easier to send Soap with Alejandro and Rodolfo, to keep Ghost with him and Gaz, to let KorTac keep to themselves. This wasn't the kind of mission he wanted to test by putting together potentially explosive personalities.
(Price could admit, if only to himself, that he didn't trust himself to work with those three. Not right now, not with the new intel still so close to the surface, not with his own curiosity burning a hole in his stomach.)
The three targets were, of course, not near each other.
“I can arrange transport,” Laswell said. It was not an offer for the 141 or the Vaqueros, but it was an offer for KorTac.
“We've got our own,” Declan said, a relatively gentle refusal. “Timing will be tight.”
“Just have to coordinate,” Alejandro said, unbothered. “We won't give them a chance to warn each other.”
“Give me a little time to coordinate the flights,” Laswell said, stepping closer to Declan. It was as close to a dismissal as the rest of them would get. She didn't need them hanging over her shoulder while she worked her magic.
So Price stepped out of the room, his boys behind him.
“Think Ace is alright?” Gaz asked softly. He was a smart, perceptive lad. Cared so much still. Probably too much, sometimes.
“I'll check in on her,” Price murmured. He still had one phone number that worked for you, fortunately.
It rang through to voice mail.
Okay. Not to panic. Didn't mean anything.
Soap and Ghost ran off to get lunch for everyone, since planning was best done on a full stomach.
Price tried calling again. No answer again.
It could be a thousand things. You could have your phone on silent. You could be mad at him and ignoring his calls. You could be busy with something else.
But his paranoia was rearing its head, undeniable and ugly.
You were right in the middle of all this, of course he was going to be concerned about you.
So he went on a little walk. To help clear his head.
He didn't see any sign of you. Every bit of his hard-won paranoia was screaming that something was wrong. That this wasn't like you.
One more phone call. One more.
Then he'd move on to more drastic measures.
The third call also went to voice mail. You weren't picking up. One he could excuse, two was iffy. But three calls?
Something was wrong.
“Gaz,” he called as he strode back into the building. “Need the laptop.”
Gaz was quick to produce it, giving Price a curious look. “Need any help, sir?”
“Maybe.” Price pulled up one of the programs Laswell had given him. Normally this kind of work was more up her alley - CIA shit, as Simon more or less affectionately referred to it. But Price wasn't clueless, or useless.
Gaz behind him, watching over his shoulder. Price didn't discourage him, focused on putting in your number and letting the program do its job.
Let this be nothing. Let him be paranoid. He could handle your temper, your hiding, your embarrassment.
So long as you were safe.
The tracker put your phone in a mostly residential area, well out of the way. Not near the hotel, not near anything the two of you had talked about.
Something was wrong.
It didn’t take him long to pull up CCTV in the area, flipping through them. There wasn’t a lot, and his jaw tightened in frustration.
“Wait,” Gaz said over his shoulder. “Go back one.”
Price obliged, going back to the previous angle.
“There, in the grass on the far side of the street.” Gaz pointed, shifting closer.
Price’s heart sank right down to his boots. A cell phone lay in the grass, abandoned. He knew you well enough to know that you wouldn’t just leave your cell phone. Not without reason.
Wordlessly, he backed up the footage until he found you. He paused for a moment, taking in the scene. The car. You, standing back just a little. The man clearly encouraging you in.
He backed up until you came into frame.
But you weren’t alone.
“Laswell!”
The door slammed open and Laswell was at his elbow moments later, leaning over his open shoulder. “Fuck,” she hissed, which was all the confirmation Price needed.
The man with you was Gray.
“How did he get her into the car?” Gaz, quiet and reasonable.
“Threats,” Price grunted.
“Me,” Laswell added, lips tight, fury in the crease of her brow. “He’s using me against her.”
Price scowled. Gray needed to be taken out. Immediately. But they couldn’t give up the mission, either.
“Track the car,” he told Gaz, pushing the laptop to his sergeant instead. “I need to know where they’re going.”
“Sir?” Gaz blinked at him, even as he pulled up the program.
“I need some supplies.” He looked to Laswell next.
“I’ll have them for you.” Laswell glanced back at Gaz, putting things together a little faster. “The op?”
“Needs to move forward.” Price shook his head. “I’ll be back in time, or I won’t. Gaz, you and Ghost are still on.”
Gaz frowned but didn’t object. Good lad. “Car’s left the suburbs,” he reported, a map pulled up on his phone. “Heading south.”
“We’ll find it again,” Laswell said, nodding to Price. “Here. Go here, take whatever you need.” She handed him an address scribbled on a piece of paper. “I’ll update you when we find the car.”
Price took the note with a nod and strode away. He didn’t wait for the elevator, hitting the door to the stairs hard enough it bounced off the wall of the stairwell. He didn’t slow, even as he hit the front door and just sidestepped running into Soap.
“Captain?” Soap called.
“Ask Laswell!” Price called over his shoulder, car keys in hand. He didn’t have time to stop and explain.
It took very little time to get to Laswell’s supply stash, and he took what he needed. Fortunately, she was well supplied, and he made a mental note to thank her for it.
But for now, the only thing on his mind was you.
You’d been gone for hours by now, and from the time stamp on the CCTV, you’d been in the car with Gray at least an hour.
He stopped at the curb next to where Gaz had spotted your phone, getting out. And there it was, still sitting in the grass.
Still open to show a new recording.
Price listened the whole recording, jaw clenched tight, fingers gripping the steering wheel so hard his knuckles were white.
Gray knew more than he should. He had sources, clearly.
But Price couldn’t bring himself to care much about that. No.
He cared about the little waver in your voice, the way he could hear you putting up a brave front.
You were terrified. And he wanted to rip Gray limb from limb for making you so scared.
Gaz called. Price barely glanced at the phone before he connected the call.
“We’ve got a location,” Gaz reported, voice even. Almost too even. Price could hear the stress he was hiding.
“Tell me.” Price didn’t even pause as he memorized the address, just in case. “Picked up Ace’s phone.”
“Anything?” Gaz tried not to sound hopeful.
“Ace got a recording before she got in the car.” Price had to pause for a moment, clenching his jaw. “He knows too much. Knew about us, said he’s got something planned for Laswell, too.”
“Fucking hell.” Gaz drew in a deep breath. “Sure you don’t need backup, sir?”
“I’ll keep you updated.” Price barreled through a yellow light, ignoring everything not an active danger to him. “How are your preparations going?”
“Laswell’s got the flights arranged,” Gaz said, a little reluctantly. “Timing is coordinated. We’ll be leaving in a few hours.”
“Rog.” Price doubted he’d make it back in time. And if, by some miracle, he did, he didn’t know if he’d be in the correct frame of mind to be on mission.
“Take the next left.”
Price obeyed without question, only breaking one or two traffic laws. (It was fine, Laswell would clear it up later.) “The others?”
“Up to date,” Gaz reported. “Had to talk Soap out of going after you.”
Price snorted. Surprising - he hadn’t known that sergeant had much fondness for you. Then again, Soap could just be reacting because Price was fond of you. Sometimes that was enough. “I trust Ghost is behaving.”
Gaz huffed. “Define behaving,” he grumbled, overly dramatic. Breaking the tension a bit.
“He hasn’t killed anyone yet or there’d be a lot more yelling.” Price scowled at the driver ahead of him, who was going exactly the speed limit.
“Laswell’s on top of everything,” Gaz assured him. “Go right, cut up two streets, and then left.”
Price grunted as he followed Gaz’s directions, pushing his foot down as soon as he was out from behind the slow driver. “How far?”
“Rate you’re going? Fifteen minutes.”
Price breathed slowly. You’d have been alone with Gray for near two hours by that point. He had no idea what condition he’d find you in. If you’d even be alive. The thought sent pain through his chest, clenching and sharp, but he forced himself not to shy away from it.
It was a possibility, even if it was one he did not want to face.
If it was true… if you were already gone…
He’d burn Gray alive.
Price switched from the call to a comm unit he tucked in his ear before he headed out of the car. He’d parked a little ways away, just in case. The abandoned hotel was in clear sight, fortunately no taller than the surrounding buildings. Still too many hiding places, sniper spots.
That was fine. Price would just clear the entire fucking building room by room until he had you back.
“Careful, sir. I count six outside.”
“Together?” Price crept forward, using a parked van as a hiding spot.
“Spread out. Three teams of two.”
Price’s lips thinned. Time to thin out the herd, then.
The first two fell so quickly they were almost simultaneous. Price moved around the van, keeping low and creeping towards the next pair, the silenced pistol firm in his grip. This was normal, easier. It was easy to view these people as the enemy, easy to clear them out systematically, coolly, silently. And they were the enemy - they were working for Gray, who had clearly allied himself on the ultranationalists and terrorists.
Which all meant that Price felt no guilt, no remorse, not even a flicker of hesitation in taking down every single man between him and you.
“I have no cameras inside,” Gaz told him as Price finally approached the door.
“Copy,” Price grunted. “Going dark.” He breached the door as quietly as he could, looking around.
So far, so good.
The ground level of this building was an absolute wreck of furniture, graffiti, and rubble. Dust, dirt, and debris covered most of the floor. The main area was a mess of footprints and an open crate of supplies.
No good hints as to where Gray had taken you.
Price cleared the ground floor methodically, cold rage spurring him on. He didn’t spare any of the bodies that hit the ground a second look.
They were nothing more than obstacles.
The last door was more than just a room, though. There was a half-open door, with a staircase going down. Maintenance, at a guess.
And soft voices from down there.
Too far away to tell if you were down there. But if Price had to bet, he’d guess that you were. Gray would keep you contained and out of danger, at least until he got what he wanted from you.
“John,” Laswell said over the comm.
Price paused, pulling back from the open doorway, pitching his voice low so it wouldn’t carry. “Laswell.”
“I found some backup for you. You’ll recognize him.”
Price blinked but didn’t allow himself any other sign of surprise. “Copy that. I’m headed downstairs - room near the back of the building has stair access.”
“I’ll pass that along.” Laswell drew in a breath, and Price waited. “If you can, bring Gray back alive.”
His lips pulled back from his teeth. “No promises.”
“Good hunting, John.” Laswell clicked off the comm.
Price breathed in deep. Someone would be coming behind him, backup. He just needed to not shoot his backup. And possibly not shoot Gray.
That would depend entirely on how you were when he found you.
Price nudged the door open enough to slip through, descending silently.
The first guard went down silently, and Price dragged the body out of the hallway and into a closet. That would buy him a little time if any other guards came through.
A double tap through the com got his attention, and Price half-turned to find a familiar face walking down the corridor towards him.
Price grinned, probably showing a few too many teeth. “Good to see you again,” he murmured. “Let’s get on it, sergeant.”

Some ideas and criticism about case2
spoiler
I realized why people were so split and clueless right till the end. It’s because the murder itself was too simple, not too mysterious. You literally need only two existing facts to figure out whodunit a year ago: Only Teruko, Ace and Eden had access to the tape. Eden had alibi for the fish. Nothing in the resuming trial even helped further uncover or hide these two clues. Recalling the band is a bonus point as a physical proof for boss fight but not needed to know it has to be you! In classic DR cases you have to go through layers and layers of the murder mystery itself and when things are peeled and exhausted well enough, the candidate close to the last layer is most definitely the one. Yet this case is so unique: they only dabbled on the murder method a bit and quickly locked hard on two targets, effectively creating a delusion in your subconsciousness to expect some extra layers to unravel the secret when it really was the first and last one. But the case itself was so compelling because they went through such fantastical trivial things to construct solid conflicts and personal stories(which is arguably the best part in my opinoin about DR formula ) and consumed so much time. Had they switched order by chance and discussed the method first, it would literally be game over from the get-go.
Still, there are things I really feel that did damage to (further pefecting )the story.
1,Ace was in fact quite clever to figure out and pull such convoluted plan but locked this in a very narrow scope including himself. Their reasoning is well Ace choke her unconscious so people would lock some stronger dudes dismissing ladies I guess so he needed to imitate Nico which makes 0 sense and actually double locks him as that one would be strong enough and have been at the previous crime scene. And the explanation for all that is, quote Charles “ace is nothing if not unintelligent so he thought it would work” so simple and so incoherent.
2, Water with fish, complete plot device, to help clear Eden and lock Ace, despite he can get water anywhere and more safely.
3, Scuff on the floor, never mentioned again, you could guess it is from the struggle and it can make sense but it felt so off not even mentioning it in the closing argument.
4. Arei just didn’t wear her glove that morning. This one knocked me out hard.
There are still some things I don't find convincing but I somehow can forced myself to believe they could work and don't affect a great murder case. But these four I'm not so sure.
So far, I feel story-wise drdt still probably is the best I've seen but I genuinely feel this chapter didn't deliver a murder mystery(by itself not the whole trial) nearly on par. It's such a pity that there is some great chance already in its narrative that can make perfect sense out of a 3rd party twist(imagine how this would be received when everyone was fretting between Ace and Eden ). Every best wish to this masterpiece in the future, especially hope it can genuinely outsmart me, not in a "you believe I am way smarter but no I fooled you!" kind of trick-smart me way.

Twisted Wonderland DnD
Title says it all, basically here's what I think the NRC boys classes and species would be in Dnd
Notes:
This is me trying to adapt their powers not what they would pick, for example if I was going on what they'd pick Epel with be a goliath barbarian
Everyone's going to have a level cap of 15, with the exceptions of Leona, Malleus and Lilia cause they're noticeably older than everyone else so I felt fair giving them a few more levels due to more experienced.
I'm sticking to cannon species if I can, but I will be mixing it up in the cases where either A, there isn't a good substitute or B, I think it would be funny.
Just cause I like to I tried to give everyone a multi-class. Also this is being done with base 5e rules so none of the new 2024 stuff.
Obviously this is just for fun idc about being optimal here.
And with that House Keeping done, let's go!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Riddle: Human, 3 Zealot Barbarian 12 Abjuration wizard
A caster with barbarian levels, well if there was ever a way to prove this was just for fun this would be it- Jokes aside the subclass doesn't matter too much here, I just had to squeak some barb levels in here cause of Riddle being a very angry boi plus him somehow having the strength to throw Floyd across the room during their orientation. The wizard levels are more straightforward, he's a smart boi and abjuration is where all the 'no magic allowed' spells are so yeah.
Ace: Human, 8 Arcane Trickster Rogue 7 Glamour Bards
Unlike everyone else sans Ortho, I didn't really have any unique magic stuff to use as a baseline for Ace, however one of his talents is sleight of hand tricks so I figured rogue would be a good fit, and Arcane Trickster with it's invisible mage hand in particular would be pretty fitting. As for bard, that one's mainly to show that he's a show off and Glamour is the one I always kinda see as the most flashy. Plus, look me in the eye and tell me Ace wouldn't be a Vicious Mockery spammer.
Deuce: Human, 5 Champion Fighter 10 Redemption Paladin
Probably one of the easiest ones for me to figure out tbh. Some flavour of fighter for his delinquent days and him getting into a lot of fights then (I went champion cause of crits but tbh any could work), and then redemption paladin cause he's trying his god damn hardest to be a good boi now, not much more to it.
Trey: Human, 8 Transmutation Wizard 7 Shepard Druid
And in contrast to Deuce being one of the easiest to figure out, Trey might just be tied for the hardest because I did not know where to begin here. Eventually I went transmutation wizard cause all of it's spells are about changing something which fits with his UM, and then Druid due to the nature and healing spells combo being a decent fit for his cooking and his big brother instincts. Again, this is the one I'm least sure on so if you have any other ideas please tell me.
Cater: Half Elf, 10 Lore Bard 5 Illusion Wizard
That moment when I have to justify the species more than the class-. Tldr, some writers, namely @ladyazurith , have sold me on the concept of half fae Cater so I wanted to throw that in, and since their isn't a half fairy race half elf will have to do. Meanwhile the class was really easy, Illusion wizard cause while there's no spell that quite replicates 'Split Card' their collection comes close, and lore bard cause Cater as a bard just feels right, though I'm open to thoughts on the subclass.
(rest underneath cut). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Leona: Tabaxi, 5 Battle Master Fighter, 11 Storm Sorcerer
I love my lazy cat man, in general but also here cause he's easy to figure out. Any fighter subclass would've worked, I just went battle master cause some of the manoeuvres like tripping felt like things Leona would do in a fight, and the Sorcerer levels were mainly cause I wanted to get him disintegrate which was the closest spell I could find to King's Roar, I just went storm cause none of the other sorcerer origins seemed like the best fit
Ruggie: Tabaxi, 12 Thief Rogue 3 Enchantment Wizard:
Another simple enough one. Given his upbringing thief rogue just made way to much sense, and as for enchantment wizard well, that's the school of magic Hideous Laughter and it's stronger Tasha version belong to and that's such a good fit for 'Laugh for Me' it's not even funny.
Jack: Shifter, 10 Moon Druid 5 Cavalier Fighter
Thank you Savannahclaw for being simple- Jokes aside, Moon Druid is the class all about better wildshape, the ability that lets you turn into animals so it's perfect for 'Unleash the Beast', and again the subclass didn't matter too much for the fighter I just wanted it for more melee strength (+Jack wanting to copy Leona) and I went cavalier cause I thought it would be funny if he got the bonuses when he was the mount- Also went shifter cause there's no werewolf race and I had to improvise
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Azul: Simic Hybrid, 10 Fathomless Warlock 5 Whispers Bard
And in complete contrast to the last dorm the Octotrio were collectively a pain to figure out. Eventually I did settle on this though. There's no octopus race so I went Simic Hybrid purely because it can have all kinds of aquatic limbs including octopus tentacles so 'close enough' and Whispers is the spy bard so all the public charms plus a lot of sneakiness. As for warlock, look, I know realistically Azul would more likely be a patron than someone making a devil deal given how he is, but I couldn't resist plus nothing's stopping him from making deals of his own to take down his boss-
Jade: Triton, 10 Spores Druid 5 Whispers Bard
Before anyone makes the joke yes the twins being a species named Triton is ironic but again I didn't have the best options here. That aside, the class here was easy enough, the bard levels were mainly for fast friends and zone of truth which combined make a pretty good representation of 'Shock the Heart' and I went Whispers for the same reason as Azul. As for the druid levels well, Jade clearly loves nature given how he started the Mountain Lovers Club and all, wildshape is a good way for him to turn back into his true form, and well, Circle of Spores specifically is a creepy mushroom themed subclass which just fits way too well.
Floyd: Triton, 2 Land Druid 13 Hexblade Warlock
Despite how long this one took me to figure out this one's pretty simple. Druid for wildshape though unlike Jade Floyd isn't sticking around nearly as long, and Hexblade cause well, I wasn't actively writing down spell lists but I was keeping them in mind and out of all the classes that had the spells I wanted for him (shield and counterspell to try recreate 'Bind the Heart') warlock was the only one that gave any kind of melee game, plus idk Floyd does seem like the type to find a cursed sword and keep it as a pet. Also,I'm not going into abilities but he also absolutely gets the grappler feat cause boy has gotta squeeze.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kalim: High Elf, 12 Divine Soul Sorcerer 3 Creation Bard
After the fishies gave me a lot of trouble we're back to simple thank god. Kalim does scream sorcerer to me due to the 'being born with more magic without having to work as hard for it' thing (I mean this with love I love my sunshine boy) and I went with Divine Soul to kinda reference Kalim being one of only three students at NRC to use light magic plus given all the assassination attempts the various healing spells it comes with probably come in handy (also sorcerer's in general are good with con saves which is what you need to beat poison). The bard levels are pretty much just cause he likes performing and making people smile, subclass doesn't matter too much, and lastly high elves are like the typical high magic rich people race which I think is a good fit.
Jamil: Yuan-ti, 4 Assassin Rogue 11 Enchantment Wizard
Time for my babygirl everyone- My bias aside this one was fun and thankfully pretty simple. I went with Yuan-ti cause that's the snake race and I couldn't help myself (also it has advantage on poison saves so extra fitting), Assassin Rogue cause rogue is generally a good class for getting through social interactions, notably with deception which is fitting, plus I have a sinking feeling Jamil at least knows how to kill if not has already done so. And finally, enchantment wizard cause that's where all the mind control spells are, notably level 11 is when you get mass suggestion which is basically what Jamil did at the end of book 4.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vil: Human, 10 Alchemist Artificer 5 Glamour Bard
I know I could've been more creative with the species choice here but Vil was one of the first I worked on and I wasn't going full hog wild yet- That aside, this one was surprisingly simple, Vil is the best potion maker out of the dorm specifically dedicated to that so the subclass that's all about making potions was just way too fitting, and glamour bard because Vil is absolutely a bard and I tend to associate this one with being the most bright and showy which is a public image I think Vil would like.
Rook: Wood Elf, 12 Fey Wanderer Ranger 3 Eloquence Bard
A rare case where I knew the class right away but the subclasses were hard to nail down. I know hunter ranger seems like the obvious one but tbh I'm not crazy on it and the 2014 version especially is kinda boring so I looked at the others and I think Fey Wanderer fits Rook a bit better cause of his love of beauty and all Fey being pretty in their own weird little way, plus it's more light themed and since he's one of the light magic students I wanted to lean into that. Meanwhile I think the bard stuff he picked up from Vil and I went eloquence cause that one's all about the fancy words which Rook is full of. As for the species, I have no deeper reason other than Wood Elf feeling right admittedly-
Epel: Halfling, 3 Wild Magic Barbarian 12 Swords Bard
Sorry Epel, I love you but in my mind you're a tiny boy holding a comically large axe- As for why I didn't push that gag further, well that's mainly cause I wanted to replicate UM when I can, and for Epel the closest I could get with my level cap+multiclass rules was Wall of Force so he had to go caster, and since I realised the rest of Pomfiore were at least part bard I decided Epel can join in on the 'fun'. Though I did do him the mercy of picking College of Swords cause Vil can force this angry boi to play music and charm people but he's gonna do it in the most violent way possible-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Idia: Fire Genasi, 10 Battlesmith Artificer 5 Shadow Sorcerer
This was easier than I was expecting ngl. Tldr, Fire Genasi was the closest I could get to... whatever is going on with his biology, Artificer is the resident builder class so it's a good fit and battlesmith in particular is all about making weapons which is kind of what Idia did with Ortho, and Shadow Sorcerer cause his weird blood basically mandated some sorcerer levels and shadow is all about death which fits Idia's deal pretty well.
Ortho: Warforged, 8 PSI Fighter 7 Shadow Sorcerer:
And in complete contrast to his brother, Ortho is probably tied with Trey for the character I had the hardest time with but hopefully this'll do. Warforged is the resident robot race so that was a shoe in, I just kinda assume Idia used some of his magic to create Ortho hence the sorcerer levels plus spells like magic missile is the closest I can get to his laser beams, and fighter cause it's the generically good combat class, again subclass is debatable. I tried but I have no idea what I was doing for this one tbh-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Malleus: Fairy, 12 Draconic Sorcerer 5 Dreams Druid
Okay, I know Dragonborn is the obvious species here but man is literally the prince of the Fae and there's plenty of spells to transform into dragons so screw it Malleus is a fairy. Other than that it's pretty straight forward, Draconic Sorcerer cause no duh, and Dreams Druid cause A, Fae prince aka tied to nature and B, after book 7 I don't think I need to explain why Malleus having a sleep themes class is fitting.
Silver: Human, 13 Twilight Cleric 2 Dreams Druid
Okay, hear me out with the class here, namely cleric cause I don't think I have to explain Dreams Druid here either. Tldr, I wanted Silver to have plane shift cause that was the closest thing I could find to his UM. Unfortunately it's a high level spell so I can't properly fit in a martial class while keeping to my level limit. Fortunately cleric is one of the classes that has Plane Shift and it's good with melee weapons as well as armour, plus it's all about holy aka light magic so it's honestly kind of perfect. Also I went Twilight Domain cause Lilia found him at night and it's a nice way of showing how despite where he was from Silver true place is with the Fae rather than his birth family.
Lilia: Dhampir, 5 Eldritch Knight Fighter 15 Bladesinger Wizard
Okay I know I should've made Lilia a fairy along with Malleus but we all joke that Lilia's a vampire so when I remembered Dhampir was an option I couldn't resist. That aside everything else is fairly simple, a melee fighter with spell access in Eldritch Knight and a caster that prefers to fight at melee in Bladesinger, perfect for a former war general, and this way most of his actual spells can go to fun utility options, as well as more... questionable spells like ones to 'help' with his cooking.
Sebek: Lizardfolk, 10 Ancients Paladin 5 Storm Sorcerer
Again, there isn't a half fairy option so I had to get creative, but instead of just going half elf again I decided to do a silly and lean into the crocodile jokes. As for the classes, Storm Sorcery was mainly for the lightning spell access, and paladin was just too good of a fit for Sebek. I was tempted to go Crown due to his loyalty to Malleus but I decided on Ancients due to his pride in his Fae side but this one is pretty debatable. Though a bonus for paladins in general is Aura of Protection which provides allies advantage against fear.... the situation was more despair instead of fear but it still works pretty well for a certain moment in book 7
If you made it this far, thank you for indulging my bullshit
